An ITIN, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, is a tax processing number issued by the IRS to individuals who are required to have a US taxpayer identification number but do not have and are not eligible to obtain a Social Security Number (SSN). Immigrants commonly use it.
Obtaining an ITIN is a straightforward process. You'll need to: 1. Fill out IRS Form W-7, Application for IRS Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. 2. Attach your tax return and proof of identity documents as specified by the IRS. 3. Submit your application by mail, in person at an IRS office, or through an authorized Acceptance Agent.
*A personal guarantee and a UCC filing may be required at closing. **ITIN is only accepted for people that don’t have an SSN.
